Certifications
The Lindsay Paper Box Co., Ltd. has adopted a multi-faceted approach to green procurement. Not only are we always looking at adopting and using more environmentally sustainable materials and practices in our own processes, we also look at ways of providing our customers with opportunities to become more sustainable in their own business practices.
We have been certified by the following:
The overriding aim of these organizations is to promote and enhance well-managed forests through credible certification, which is environmentally responsible, socially acceptable, and economically viable. These certification systems allow companies within the supply chain and ultimately, the consumer, to know they are doing the right thing, and taking business away from other companies that may still be supporting illegal, unsustainable, unverified logging activities.
The intent is to shift the market to eliminate habitat destruction, water pollution, displacement of indigenous peoples and violence against people and wildlife that often accompanies logging. The main tools for achieving this are a product-labelling system and Chain-of-Custody process. In order to use these logos as an "environmental claim" on paper, the product must have flowed through the chain-of-custody from the certified forest, to a paper manufacturer, merchant, and finally printer, all of whom have chain-of-custody certification.
